Atletico Madrid last reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in the 2016-17 season. They have an excellent chance to do so on Tuesday after a goal in each half shocked the La Liga leaders. Home form for Atletico has been strong and they will hope to be able to finish off the job they have begun so well in this tie. The winners of this tie will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the last four.

Atletico Madrid - Barcelona: Form Analysis
Atletico Madrid won four of their eight games in the league phase but were beaten three times. At home, they beat Eintracht Frankfurt, USG and Inter with ten goals being scored. To give Barcelona some hope, they were beaten at home by Bodo/Glimt.
The Red-Whites finished only 14th in the league phase and had to go into the knockout play-off round. That saw them beat Club Brugge 7-4 on aggregate. Then came the infamous home game against Spurs that they won 5-2, going on to win the last 16 tie 8-5 on aggregate.
The weekend didn't go well for Atletico as they lost to Seville, their third successive league loss.
Barcelona have it all to do.
Barcelona ended the league phase in fifth place, three points above their La Liga rivals. Five of their eight games were won with a couple of defeats. In the last 16, they knocked out Newcastle United, drawing the away leg 1-1 but then beating them 7-2 at home.
The weekend saw them beat Espanyol 4-1 to remain nine points clear at the top of La Liga. They have won ten away league games this season but only a couple in this season's Champions League.

Atletico Madrid & Barcelona Squad Analysis
It wasn't all good news for Atletico as they won 2-0 at Barcelona last week. David Hancko suffered an ankle injury and is a doubt for this second leg. He was replaced by Marc Pubill and he won't be playing on Tuesday either as he was booked and will be serving a suspension.
Jan Obliak is likely to be making his return on Tuesday after being out wtih an abdominal issue. Atletico rested several players for the weekend's game and they are expected to be back for this quarter-final second leg.
While they have had some high-scoring wins in Europe this season, keeping home clean sheets is a problem. They will need to try and keep it tight at the back to keep Barca out as they try to reach the semi-finals.
Martin should be fit to play.
Barca won well at the weekend but did see Gerard Martin fail to come out for the second half. he's expected to be fit to play on Tuesday.. A fitness test will be held for Marc Bernal who has an ankle problem. Raphinha and Andreas Christensen will both miss the game.
Scoring the first goal is going to be vital for Barcelona. Going 3-0 down in the tie would make the mountain they have to climb even higher. Patience is going to be important for them, especially if they fail to make an early breakthrough.
