The San Antonio Spurs travel to take on the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena in the NBA on Monday afternoon. The hosts are 15-23 and 11th in the Eastern Conference, while the visitors are 7-31 and bottom of the Western Conference. 

In desperate need of a win after losing 11 of their last 14 games, the San Antonio Spurs recently beat the Pistons and Hornets but had their two-game win streak snapped by the Bulls. Tre Jones led the Spurs with 30 points and nine rebounds in the loss. The Spurs currently rank 23rd in the league in scoring offense, averaging 112.6 points per game, which is 11.5 points fewer than what the Hawks typically allow. Defensively, the Spurs sit 26th in the league in scoring defense, giving up an average of 121.7 points per game. Notably, the Spurs concede fewer points on the road (120.3) compared to at home (123.1). Charles Bassey and Zach Collins are ruled out for the foreseeable future, while Doug McDermott is listed as a doubt.

Meanwhile,  the Atlanta Hawks recently suffered their second straight defeat and fourth in the last five games, losing 127-99 at home to the Wizards. Trae Young led the Hawks with 21 points and 10 assists in the loss. Despite their relatively lowly position, the Hawks enter this contest ranked fourth in scoring offense, averaging 121.7 points per game, which is the exact number that the Spurs tend to concede. However, defense has been a different story, as Atlanta ranks second-bottom in the league with 124.1 points given up per game. Notably, at home, they are giving up an average of 126.6 compared to 122.0 on the road. Atlanta beat this opponent 137-135 at the start of last month but will be without De’Andre Hunter and possibly Wesley Matthews.
