The Eastern Conference’s 10th-place Atlanta Hawks host the West’s sixth-placed Phoenix Suns for this Friday night matchup in the NBA. Atlanta will be looking to make it three consecutive wins after earning victories over the Raptors and Lakers, both coming at home. Their most recent appearance saw them put up 138 points as they cruised by the Lakers for a 16-point win. Only one other time this season have the Hawks managed to string together three or more wins, which took place way back in November. Atlanta had seven players score in double-digits against the Lakers, led by Trae Young and Dejounte Murray who combined for 50. The Hawks are now holding on to the final play-in tournament spot where they hold a slim one game lead over the 11th-place Nets. The offense has been ticking for Atlanta lately and they rank third in the NBA in scoring at 120.6 points per game scored on average.

The Suns have certainly been in the ascendency after posting an 11-5 record in the month of January. This has Phoenix sitting sixth in the West with a record of 28-20, putting them even with the fifth-placed Kings and trailing fourth by 4.5 games. A large part to their recent success has been the explosion of Devin Booker who had a three-game stretch which saw him score 46, 62 and 44 points consecutively. Over his last five games, the 27-year-old is averaging 39.2 points, 5.4 rebound and 5.0 assists per game. The Suns come into this contest riding a two game winning streak after a 136-120 win over the Brooklyn Nets. It marked the eighth win in the last 10 games for the Suns who are playing good basketball with their big three healthy.
