Top seed Aryna Sabalenka bids to win the Brisbane International on Sunday. The world number one faces qualifier Polina Kudermetova in the final of this outdoor hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction.
This is the second successive year in which Sabalenka has reached the final of this tournament. Last year saw her lose in the title decider to Elena Rybakina but will be confident of landing yet another title down under this time after winning the last two Australian Opens.
The 26-year old has reached this final without dropping a set. Beaten this week have been Renata Zarazua, 15th seed Yulia Putintseva, Marie Bouzkova and in the last four, eighth-seeded Mirra Andreeva.
It's been an amazing start to the new year for Polina Kudermetova. The 21-year-old was ranked 107th at the start of 2025 and is now up to a career-high 57th after this run to the final
Two qualifying matches had to be played just to get into the main draw. That was achieved without dropping a set. Since then, there have been main draw wins against Wang Xinyu, 13th seed Liudmila Samsonova, third seed Daria Kasatkina, Ashlyn Krueger and Anhelina Kalinina.
