Arsenal - Manchester United: Form Analysis
With City and Aston Villa losing their MD22 fixtures, Arsenal were not just let off the hook for their 0-0 draw against Forest; they actually extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points.
That was the Gunners' second goalless draw in the EPL in succession, and while those results were not ideal, they prevented their opponents from recording a single shot on target in both matches.
Indeed, the hosts’ defence has been incredible this season, particularly at home, where they have only conceded five goals in 11 games - the fewest in the top flight - and have yet to suffer defeat.
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last seven league home games against this opponent (W6 D1)!
Meanwhile, Michael Carrick could not have scripted a better return to Manchester United, as he oversaw arguably the team’s best performance this season in last week’s 2-0 victory over the Citizens.
It was the first win across all competitions the Red Devils managed since Boxing Day against Newcastle United, and perhaps more importantly, just the third clean sheet they kept this season.
The task for the visitors now is to find the same sort of performance on the road, where they are winless in their last three games (D2 L1), including disappointing draws against newly promoted Leeds and Burnley.

Arsenal & Manchester United Squad Analysis
After spending the majority of the season on the sidelines, Gabriel Jesus has now recorded three goal contributions in his two starts since returning from injury, including bagging a brace at the San Siro in the week.
It is unlikely that the Brazilian will displace Viktor Gyokeres for this match, but pressure is certainly mounting on the Swede, as he has only registered one goal in his last 10 league appearances.
Bukayo Saka and Ben White have shaken off knocks and are in contention to start this match, but Piero Hincapie, Riccardo Calafiori and Max Dowman will miss out through injury.
Will Carrick maintain faith in Bryan Mbeumo to lead the line this week?
The Cameroonian was deployed as the number nine against City and finished off a sweeping counter-attack to give the Red Devils the lead. Only Mo Salah and Antoine Semenyo have scored more goals from fast breaks since last season than Mbeumo’s five.
If United are able to breach the Gunners’ defence, Bruno Fernandes is likely to be involved. The team's skipper set up Mbeumo last weekend and now leads the league in assists (9) and chances created (62).
Given how well they marshalled Erling Haaland, and with Matthijs de Ligt ruled out, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez are likely to start again in central defence. Joshua Zirkzee is the only other United player currently sidelined through injury.

Our Arsenal vs Manchester United Prediction
Arsenal have been let off the hook in the last two weeks, with Man City and Aston Villa failing to capitalise on their dropped points. Mikel Arteta will know that they cannot continue to ride their luck, though, as their seven-point lead can evaporate in the blink of an eye.
For Man United, this match will likely tell us whether last week’s performance was the start of a resurgence or merely a new manager bounce. However, the Red Devils will arrive in North London brimming with confidence, and we feel they will keep this one close even if they do head back empty-handed. Our Arsenal vs Manchester United prediction is Manchester United +2 European handicap.
