Andrey Rublev vs Pedro Martinez Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Sixth seed Andrey Rublev will have one initial aim in this  clay court Roland Garros Grand Slam. He'd love to reach the semi-finals after losing all ten of his Grand Slam quarter-finals. In the second round of this year's French Open he takes on unseeded Pedro Martinez. In round three a possible opponent is 29th seeded Arthur Fils. Rublev had a few problems in his first round match and needed to go to four sets to beat Taro Daniel. The Russian has already won one ATP Tour clay court title this year winning the Madrid Masters. Last year saw him lose in round three at Roland Garros but he did reach the last eight in both 2020 and 2022. He leads Martinez 1-0 in previous meetings. That win came in the 2021 US Open on an outdoor hard court.

Pedro Martinez is up to 46th in the live rankings after beating Thiago Augustin Tirante in round one. He had a tougher time than Rublev did in his first round match. Martinez lost the first set and needed to win the last two to make it into round two. He'd be relieved at that because the Spaniard had lost his first match at Roland Garros in his last two visits. Beating Rublev will see him equal the third round he reached back in 2020. He's been busy on clay this year and has won one Challenger Tour title. The semi-finals were reached in Santiago, the last eight in Bucharest and he was the runner-up in Estoril. He's struggled in recent tournaments though, losing in his first match in his previous three events. We tip Rublev to win this in straight sets.
