13th-place Sevilla play host to relegation-threatened Granada for matchday 34 in the Spanish LaLiga. Granada currently find themselves sitting 19th in the standings and a massive 10 points from safety. They’ll have to be near perfect in the run-in and hope that 17th-place Celta Vigo and possibly 16th-placed Mallorca completely fall apart. To make matters worse, Granada could see their fate sealed on Sunday if they lose combined with wins from both Celta and Mallorca. The upshot is that Granada has seen an excellent little spark of form in the last three weeks. With Jose Ramon Sandoval now at the helm, Granada’s third manager of the season, the Nazaries have managed two wins and a draw in their last three games. The streak was capped off by a 3-0 home victory over Osasuna in their last outing. It’s the best sequence that the visitors have experienced all season although it might be a case of too little, too late.

It’s been a season to forget for hosts Sevilla who will have recorded their worst finish in over 20 years should they end the season in their current position of 13th. The good news for fans is that it looks as though that might not be the case. Los Nervionenses are also currently in the midst of their best league form of the season with 10 points earned from a possible 12. Sevilla’s last outing resulted in them drawing 1-1 with rivals Real Betis in the Seville derby. The result means that the hosts have lost only once in their last seven LaLiga matches, winning four and drawing the remaining two. Another win on Sunday and Sevilla could jump up to 11th-place should other results go their way as well.
