Manchester City - Arsenal: Form Analysis
Both Manchester City and Arsenal come into this game in sensational form, adding to the excitement of what could be a season-defining clash between the two at the Etihad. City have now gone 22 games unbeaten in all competitions, since losing 1-0 to Aston Villa on December 6th 2023. In that run they have drawn just three and won 19 of their matches although two of those three drew did come at home (against Crystal Palace and Chelsea) and the other away to Liverpool. Their last league game saw them draw 1-1 at Anfield, but it was Liverpool who probably deserved the win in that game. However, before the international break they defeated Newcastle United 2-0 in the FA Cup quarterfinals to move into the semi-finals where they will face Chelsea in April at Wembley.
Arsenal's form at present is equally outstanding in the Premier League at least. The Gunners have won all of their last eight Premier League games, scoring 33 goals in the process, an average of over four per game, and they have conceded just four goals in that run. However, they have not proven to be unbeatable. Liverpool knocked them out of the FA Cup in January, winning 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium and they required penalties to defeat FC Porto in the Champions League, after losing 1-0 in Portugal, before winning 1-0 at home and then 4 -2 on penalty kicks. They have beaten City twice in the last two meetings, winning on penalties in the Community Shield before their 1-0 Premier League win back in October, but before that had lost the previous 12 in the Premier League to City.

Manchester City & Arsenal Squad Analysis
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola does have a number of injury concerns ahead of this fixture. England duo John Stones and Kyle Walker are both ruled out after sustaining injuries on international duty. Jack Grealish, as well as Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson and Manuel Akanji are all carrying slight injuries, although the prognosis is that De Bruyne, Ederson and Akanji should all be fit and Grealish is not too far away either. The positive news for City is that Phil Foden came through the international break unscathed, as did Kevin De Bruyne and the talismanic midfielder Rodri, who has been absent in City's three Premier League defeats this season.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has a couple of injury concerns. Gabriel Martinelli has missed the last few games but is closed to a return, while Bukayo Saka and Gabriel withdrew from international duty due to slight injuries, though both are thought to be in with a realistic chance of starting against City. Other than that Arteta has a relatively clean bill of health and can also select keeper David Raya once again after he missed the 2-1 win over his parent club Brentford last time out. Arteta has a number of selection dilemmas at left back where three players (Zinchenko, Kiwior and Tomiyasu) are contending for one place and also in midfield where Jorginho, Thomas Partey or Leandro Trossard are vying to start alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, although Trossard could start on the left hand side if Martinelli is not fit enough to start.

- Two of Arsenal's three defeats this season have come away from home, at Newcastle United and at Fulham.
