Cameroon are set to start their journey to qualify for the World Cup for an eighth time, when they open their Group D campaign at home to minnows Malawi. This is going to be a crucial chapter for Cameroon, who missed Russia 2018, and being hosts of the 2021 AFCON, they have to impress in these qualifiers. They go to this game with one win in the last six matches, a friendly game against Nigeria, and their matches have been characterized by low scores. In the last five outings, four have ended in under 2.5 goals and while Cameroon have no win in their last three home matches, they are unbeaten in 12. They’ve won six and drawn as many at home heading to this game. Cameroon have one win and one loss in their last seven World Cup qualification matches, and in their last 10 matches they have four clean sheets. In World Cup qualification, Malawi have scored no goal in the last three away matches and each of their last six matches ended in under 2.5 goals.
