Bristol City vs Rotherham Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Bristol City will host Rotherham in the Championship on Saturday in a game that has little meaning for either side with the home team safely in mid-table and their visitors already demoted. City have not been all that entertaining at home in the second half of the season, scoring zero or one goal in 10 of their 12 home games so far in 2024. They did manage a 3-1 win against Southampton and a 5-0 drubbing of Blackburn at Ashton Gate but otherwise, home goals have been few and far between. Luckily for them, their defence has been on point, keeping five clean sheets in those 12 games and only conceding a single goal in the other seven. A Nakhi Wells stoppage-time penalty rescued a point against Huddersfield in their last game here but Rotherham is another 20 points inferior to the relegation-threatened Terriers. 

Just four points have been gained by Rotherham away from home this season, all from draws. They have failed to find the net in any of their last five games away from home and in nine of their last 10 games overall. A 2-1 win at home over Millwall on Easter Monday is their only win in their last 21 games in all competitions with their joint top scorers at present having just four goals on the season, Hakeem Odofin and Tom Eaves. This is the fourth time in eight seasons they have been relegated from the Championship but they have bounced straight back up at the first time of asking in the other three so fans will be hoping that in May 2025 when the club celebrates their centenary that they will have something to cheer for.
