West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City will be keen on returning to winning ways when they face off in the Championship on Saturday. The two sides have had shaky runs lately, leaving hosts West Brom fifth and Birmingham 10th. Last season, they drew home and away, and there’s reason to go for another such outcome in our prediction.
West Brom are seeking a rise after two winless outings. Before heading into the international break, the Baggies fell 1-0 at Wolves, failing to score for the first time this season.
They’ll welcome a return home, where they haven’t lost this term and actually hold an 11-game undefeated run. Seven of the 11 matches were draws.
Birmingham also had a winless outing last time out but will be disappointed at conceding late in their 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough. That result left the Blues with just one win in the last five matches, three of those being draws.
They do have a strong away form to bank on, having posted three wins in their first five matches on the road this season. Across their last seven away outings in all competitions, Birmingham suffered just one loss.
The visitors’, however, don’t command a very strong run when visiting West Brom. They’ve lost five times in their last 10 trips to the Hawthorns and won just twice.
