Monday in the Association sees an inter-conference matchup as the 2-3 Washington Wizards host the 5-1 Golden State Warriors. Washington is sitting ninth in the Eastern Conference while Golden State is off to a hot start and currently sit third in the West. Let’s get right into our match prediction!
The Wizards saw an encouraging two-game winning streak come to an end in their last outing as they fell 118-98 at home to the Miami Heat. Washington was dreadful from deep on Saturday as they hit just seven three-pointers on 35 attempts (20%), while allowing the Heat to shoot 15/37 (40.5%).
Unfortunately for Wiz fans, it’s nothing new as the team ranks 26th in opponent 3PT% on the season at 38.5%. On the offensive end, they’ve been unable to keep up as their 31.3% seasonal average sees them ranked 21st in shooting from deep.
The Warriors have enjoyed a fast start to the 2024/25 season with five wins from their first six appearances. What’s more impressive is that they’ve been getting the job done recently even without the talismanic Steph Curry. The 35-year-old has missed the last three games but has been upgraded to questionable on the injury report for the team’s trip to the nation’s capital.
Most recently, Golden State grabbed an overtime victory after beating Houston 127-122 on Saturday.
