The Dallas Cowboys got their season off to a winning start when beating the New York Giants 35-17. That win took them to the top of the NFC East ahead of Philadelpha Eagles who beat Washington Redskins. A win over Washington will take them two wins clear of them so early in the season. The Cowboys won this division last season with five wins out of six against sides in the NFC and eventually lost to the LA Rams in the divisional play-offs.
Washington Redskins finished third in the NFC East last season with a 7-9 record. That was the third season in a row the Redskins had failed to make it to the play-offs. Their new season began with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. That was a disappointing loss as they led by 13 points at half-time but then saw that lead wiped out when losing the third quarter 14-0. Philadelphia extended their lead in the final quarter ending 32-27 winners. The Cowboys have won seven of their last eight games against the Redskins and can win this game to go 2-0 for the season.
