Victoria Azarenka vs Elena Rybakina Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Berlin Open

Third seed Elena Rybakina will play the unseeded Victoria Azarenka in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Berlin Ladies Open. This is the third time the two will meet this year and the winner will play Anna Kalinskaya, Aryna Sabalenka or Daria Kasatkina.

Azarenka is seeking her first ever win against Rybakina. She has lost all three of their encounters but did come close to a win the last time they squared off. This was in Miami in March where the two battled for more than two hours and 30 minutes.

As she is an exceptional grasscourt player, the former world number one will be confident of victory here. Azarenka has won over 60 matches on grass in her career and was a semi-finalist in Berlin three seasons ago.

The Belarussian, returning to this event for a third time, defeated the qualifier Zeynep Sonmez in the second round. She has yet to lose a set in this event and has now moved up to 16th in the live ranking. This is the highest she has ranked in over a year.

Elena Rybakina’s dominance against Azarenka will have her confident of progressing to the semi-finals for the first time in Berlin. Though none of their battles has been on grass, Rybakina has recorded two semi-final victories against Azarenka.

The current world number four began her third campaign in Berlin in the second round. She defeated Veronika Kudermetova in straight sets and is now through to the last eight here for the first time. Rybakina is having an exceptional campaign and has so far compiled a 35-6 record.

This has yielded three titles and two runner-up finishes. A former Wimbledon champion, the Kazakh is using Berlin to prepare for the grass major which is just around the corner.
