There is NBA action in the Beehive State early on Friday morning as the 12-24 Utah Jazz host the 14-23 Dallas Mavericks in a Western Conference matchup. The Jazz are 13th while the Mavs are 11th ahead of this one, so let’s get stuck into a prediction. 

It’s been a difficult run of games of late for the Jazz, losing in overtime last night in Oklahoma City against the Thunder. That makes it five losses in a row, but they will appreciate being back on their home court after four on the road.

They beat the Mavs 140-133 in overtime the last time Dallas came to town in the middle of December, though they have gone 2-9 In 11 games since. Their defence now ranks worst in points given up in the league but they score the sixth most points.

Only four teams put up fewer points on average than the Mavs but three of their next six are against the Jazz which in theory gives them an opportunity to put some more on the board. 

They ended a run of seven straight losses on the road with a narrow win in Sacramento last time out, needing just 100 points to pick up the victory, winning back-to-back games ahead of this assignment.
