The United States and Bulgaria will meet in the quarter-finals of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championships on Thursday afternoon. Team Bulgaria won their last match against Team USA when they met in May. Let’s get into the match prediction.
The United States have reached the last eight at the FIVB Volleyball World Championships for a fifth time in succession and are looking to earn their first medal since 2018.
Team USA have won all four of their matches in this competition, with the most recent being a 3-1 victory against the number four seed Slovenia in the quarter-final over the weekend.
Gabriel Garcia picked up a very impressive 26 points against Slovenia, including seven points off his service. He is now inside the top 10 scorers in the competition with 62 points overall.
Meanwhile, Bulgaria are set to feature in the quarter-final of this competition for the first time since 2010 and last won a World Championship medal back in 2006 in Japan.
Team Bulgaria were too good for Portugal in the round of 16 and secured a 3-0 victory. They have only dropped two sets in the competition, both against Slovenia during the group stage.
Aleksander Nikolov scored 19 points in the last match and now has 90 points in the competition, which is ranked second overall, two points behind Ferre Reggers.
