Senegal are one of the favourites to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. They were on a long unbeaten run of seven games before beginning this tournament. That run was extended to eight matches when opening their group with a comfortable 2-0 win over Tanzania. Then they came up against Algeria and lost 1-0 before a final match against Kenya. They had to wait until the 63rd minute to break the deadlock but ended up winning 3-0. That's taken them into this last sixteen game against Uganda who are ranked 58 places below them.

The Ugandan team were runners-up in this tournament 41 years ago but had to wait until 2017 to even make the finals again. They had a tough group to get out of this year with hosts Egypt their main opponents. Uganda won only one of their five games in the run up to these championships. Their campaign began with a 2-0 win over Congo DR and a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe. The latter of those results was a tad disappointing as Zimbabwe are below them in the rankings. Their final game was a 2-0 loss to Egypt, both goals coming in the first half. Senegal look to be in better form and they can be backed to get the win in this game.
