The World Heavyweight division should be unified for the first time since April 2000 when WBC Champion Tyson Fury takes on WBA, WBO, IBF, The Ring Magazine and Lineal Champion Oleksandr Usyk. The fight is one of the biggest sporting events of the year and certainly one of the biggest boxing events in recent times. Both fighters come into the bout undefeated, Usyk with a perfect unbeaten record (21-0) and Fury with just one draw on his otherwise blemish-free resume (34-0-1). After the initial bout was postponed due to an injury to Fury sustained in sparring, the boxing world is eagerly awaiting a potential unification bout in the most exciting and explosive division in boxing.

Tyson Fury - Oleksandr Usyk: Form Analysis
All eyes in the boxing world will be glued to the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next Saturday. That's when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will finally meet in the ring to unify the division and give us our first undisputed heavyweight world champion since Lennox Lewis. Bookmakers have the fight down as too close to call, with Fury, the self-styled Gypsy King, the slight favorite with most bookmakers. He remains unbeaten in his 35 fight career, winning 34, 24 by knockout and drawing once. However, he was knocked down for the seventh time in his career by MMA star Francis Ngannou in his last fight, which he won via split-decision, though some judges felt Ngannou probably shaded the win. Fury has a lot to prove in this fight, but he also has a huge height, reach and weight advantage over his opponent.
Ukrainian superstar Oleksander Usyk is a hero back in Ukraine and after Olympic Gold, then unifying the Cruiserweight division, he has now stepped up to heavyweight in impressive fashion. He has defeated Anthony Joshua twice to win and then retain four heavyweight title belts and defeated Daniel Dubois in his last fight. That knockout win was marred in controversy where a Dubois punch, which knocked Usyk down, was judged to be a low-blow, when replays suggested the punch looked good from the British fighter. Usyk would not have beaten the count had the punch been ruled legal. Usyk is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world today and a consummate ring technician. He will certainly fancy his chances of taking down another bigger fighter in this massive unification bout.

Tyson Fury & Oleksandr Usyk Squad Analysis
Tyson Fury's unbeaten career has seen him hold every version of the World Heavyweight title, just not at the same time. He first won the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring and Lineal titles when defeating Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf back in November 2015. However, Fury suffered with mental health issues following his win and eventually surrendered all the belts, which were then won by rival Anthony Joshua. After battling his depression, Fury returned to the ring and notched up two wins before challenging Deontay Wilder for the WBC Heavyweight title. Their first fight was a draw, controversially as many pundits felt Fury had done enough to win the bout. However, he defeated Wilder twice more to win the WBC belt, which he then defended successfully against British pair Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora. His last fight was a somewhat fortutious split decision victory over MMA Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou back in October 2023.
His opponent is the unbeaten Ukrainian Olympic gold medallist Oleksandr Usyk. A stellar amateur career saw him win the 2011 World Championships and then a gold in the heavyweight division in London 2012. Usyk turned professional in 2013 at cruiserweight and won the first of his world titles in that division in just his 10th fight. By his 15th fight he had unified the division after beating Murat Gassiev and he followed that up with an impressive victory over Tony Bellew before making the step up to heavyweight in his 17th professional fight. Wins over Chass Witherspoon and Derek Chisora followed, before he faced Anthony Joshua in two bouts, winning both in impressive style to win the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles. He was knocked down in his last fight against Daniel Dubois, but the referee rules it a low blow, somewhat controversially. After a lengthy stoppage, Usyk came back to knockout Dubois in the 9th round. He has won all of his 21 fights as a professional and had an incredible record of 335-15 as an amateur.
