Torino have managed to escape relegation after a tough season in the Italian Serie A and will be hoping for a strong showing at home when they face AS Roma on Wednesday. Torino head to this clash on 39 points and in 16th place while Roma are fifth with 64 points. One point secured in their last match against SPAL assured Torino of another season in the top flight but that was also heavily helped by Lecce’s loss to Bologna. In the last 17 league matches, Torino have managed just three wins, a highlight of the poor run they have had, losing 11 of those. They head to this clash winless in their last three matches and having already secured survival we doubt they will have the punch. Defensively, they have been weak all season, conceding 64 goals in 36 matches, making them only stronger than the four sides below them. They have just seven clean sheets in the 36 league matches played and with seven of their 11 wins in the league so far coming at home, they will want to take full advantage here.

On the other hand, AS Roma will be looking to secure fifth place with a win in this game. They have registered five wins in their last six matches but an earlier slump means they can’t get to finish in the top four. Roma heads here with a six – match unbeaten run but have just one clean sheet in the last 11 league matches – against relegated Brescia. They have scored two goals or more in their last six matches and it seems going to this game they will only be concerned about the defence. Seven of their last 10 matches have produced over 2.5 goals and being one of the five teams to have scored above 70 goals so far, they will look to extend this against one of the weakest sides in Serie A this season. In 17 away league matches Roma have won nine and will be seeking a 10th here, which will also be their third straight, after wins over SPAL and Brescia. In the last two away matches, they have scored nine goals but have one clean sheet in their last nine away league matches.
