The first of a Monday Night Football double-header sees two unbeaten teams battle it out as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Philadelphia Eagles. Tampa are third in the NFC South despite their 2-0 record while the Eagles are second in the NFC East, just behind the Cowboys. The Buccaneers come into this matchup catching five points on the point spread at the Raymond James Stadium. The Bucs were solid at home last season with five wins and four losses en route to winning the division despite an 8-9 record. They’re coming off a 27-17 home win over the Chicago Bears last weekend. Prior to that, Tampa were able to secure an excellent 20-17 away win against a tricky Vikings team. Former Browns number one pick Baker Mayfield has excelled in his two games as a Buccaneer, racking up 490 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. He’ll have to have another strong performance if the Bucs are going to upset the odds as the home underdogs.

The Eagles have started the season 2-0 for the second consecutive year. They were somewhat unconvincing in their season opener as they had to grind out a 25-20 away win over the Patriots. Philly were then fortunate to have beaten the Vikings at home 34-28 in week two as a number of careless turnovers could have been disastrous. The visitors have the advantage of extra rest as their previous game was played on Thursday night. There does appear to be something off about this Eagles team this time around, despite the unbeaten start. Their defense has not looked to be the solid unit which led the NFL in a number of categories last season. On top of that, star quarterback Jalen Hurts looks to be taking some time in adapting to the new Offensive Coordinator. This could wind up being a tricky spot for Philadelphia against a confident Bucs team.
