In their penultimate Group D match of the Euro 2020 qualifiers, third placed Switzerland will host fourth placed Georgia, who will be playing their last match of the qualifiers. Heading to this game, the Swiss have managed 11 points from six matches and Georgia have eight. For Georgia, their qualification journey is over at this stage, but they still have another chance, having topped their Nations League group. They can’t ascend past third place and will only be banking on the run they had in the Nations League. Switzerland on the other hand have the chance to go top of the group with this game and can still qualify through playoffs courtesy of the Nations League performance.
