St. Louis Cardinals vs San Diego Padres Prediction & Betting Tips - MLB

The St Louis Cardinals will look to make it back-to-back victories over the San Diego Padres when the two teams meet at Busch Stadium in Missouri for some MLB action. Both teams have experienced solid starts to the 2022 season and each ballclub sits second in their respective divisions. The Cards have a 27-21 record, placing them four games behind the first-place Brewers in the NL Central while the Padres’ 30-18 record sees them trailing the Dodgers by three games in the NL West. This is the second of a three-game series between the two teams with the Cardinals taking game one by a score of 6-3. The home team will be looking to win its fourth game out of the last five while the visiting Padres will hope to get back to winning ways after losing three of the last five games.

Blake Snell takes the mound for the visiting Padres and is making only his third start after suffering an injury earlier in the season. The former Cy Young award winner has had a rocky start to his 2022 season and has an 0-2 record with an ERA of 6.00 with only nine full innings of work. Snell looks to still be trying to find his groove out there and has shown shades of his former self as his strikeout numbers have been solid but has struggled with his control. For the Cardinals, Adam Wainwright gets the nod and the 40-year-old has been fairly consistent so far. Wainwright has a 5-4 record with a 3.12 ERA on the year but is coming off a five inning performance which saw him allow 10 hits and four runs in a game that the Cardinals ultimately lost 4-3.
