The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League gets underway with Slavia Prague playing host to Bodo/Glimt for matchday one of the league phase. We’ve got the full breakdown as well as a prediction for this match between the Red and Whites and the Yellow Horde!

Slavia Prague - Bodoe/Glimt: Form Analysis
Slavia Prague have made a strong start to their 2025-26 campaign and sit atop the Czech First League after eight games. They picked up another win over the weekend when they cruised past Karvina 3-1 at home to move their record to 6-2-0.
Overall, Crvenobili have now won their last three games on the trot, scoring three goals in each.
When it comes to European competition, Slavia will hope to put in a better performance than they did in last season’s Europa League. The hosts lost five of their eight league phase matches while winning just once.
Bodo/Glimt have been scoring for fun, netting 20 goals in their last five outings.
Free-scoring Bodo/Glimt will be looking to make their mark in the Champions League as they prepare for their first ever match in the competition. They deserve a lot of credit for their excellent run in last season’s Europa League which saw them beat the likes of Twente, Olympiacos and Lazio in the knockout stages.
In their domestic league, Bodo are sitting top of the standings after 21 games. They’re coming off back-to-back wins with their most recent being a 7-1 beatdown of Kristiansund on Friday.

Slavia Prague manager Jindrich Trpisovsky comes into this match with four confirmed absences. Among them are central midfielder Petr Sevcik and left back Dominik Javorcek.
Key to the hosts chances will be the performances of Provod and Kusej, who could line up in the #10 positions if Trpisovsky opts to field his 3-4-2-1 formation. Both players lead the team in goal involvements after each scoring twice and laying on four assists.
Kusej is off to a fast start in his Slavia career since joining from ____ and has scored 12 times in 25 appearances for the Czech champions. Provod, meanwhile, finished the previous campaign with four goals and 17 assists in 42 appearances.
Bodo/Glimt’s attacking core has been ravaged by injuries
It’s been tough luck for Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen who could be without as many as six players. The most notable absence is Kasper Waarts Hogh, who has been lethal since joining Bodo in 2024, netting 38 goals in 66 outings for the club.
Also missing out will be second leading scorer Ulrik Saltnes and there are questions as to whether new striker signing Ola Brynhildsen will be able to suit up after suffering an injury in his debut on Friday.
