For the first time in his Rome Masters history, Jannik Sinner will be playing in the semi-final. He will meet Tommy Paul, this being the fifth matchup between them, and the winner will face Carlos Alcaraz or Lorenzo Musetti. Read on for our prediction.

Sinner has blasted his way to the last four after coming off a three-month suspension. The world number one is yet to drop a set at the Rome Masters.

He is coming from a dominant, two-set win over Madrid Masters winner Casper Ruud. Sinner won that match 6-0, 6-1, needing just an hour and five minutes to do the job. He leads Tommy Paul 3-1 in their head-to-head records.

Across all the remaining four players, it so happens that none is as experienced at Rome Masters as Tommy Paul. He is the only remaining player to have made it to the last four at a previous appearance.

That said, the American is faced with the arduous task of being the first person to beat Sinner this year. He overcame Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets in just under two hours.

Bringing his tally for the season to 21-7, Paul will be a force to reckon with, especially as he is 8-2 on clay for the season. In their four meetings, only one was on clay, and Sinner won it in three sets at Madrid.
