Senegal are the number one ranked team in Africa and they showed it in the game against Tanzania; the Algeria coach already admitted that Senegal are the favorites to top this group. It is hard to argue with that stance, looking at Senegal’s form. Senegal have not lost a match in their last seven; they have won all of them. They have one loss in 12 matches and six clean sheets in 10 matches. They are also prolific in attack, having scored two goals or more in eight of their last 12 matches. Senegal are unbeaten in open play in their last five matches at AFCON. Algeria on the other hand, get to the game also on a good run though not as good as Senegal’s. They have three wins and two draws in their last five matches, and six wins and a loss in the last 10 matches. Algeria have four clean sheets in their last 15 matches and a win in their last five AFCON matches. In 13 AFCON matches, Algeria have managed just three wins. On a more positive aspect, for Algeria, they are unbeaten in the last four matches against Senegal.
