Gimcheon Sangmu are a point away from confirming their postseason spot in the Korean League. The military side will be at home to take on Pohang Steelers in their next league match. We have a prediction below.

Three matches remain before the split, and so far, only Jeonbuk’s place in the top six is confirmed. We don’t expect second-placed Sangmu to miss out, but facing fourth-placed Pohang counts for a tough match.

This, though, is a fixture Sangmu has dominated over the years. They have five straight wins in it and have only lost once in the last eight. Sangmu are coming off a 2-1 win at Jeonbuk, ending a two-game losing run.

Pohang have put up a spirited fight in the past few matches, keeping their top-six hopes alive. The most recent of such was a 1-0 win against Jeju. That was their sixth win in eight matches across all competitions.

With that, they hit 48 points. As things stand, they need to reach the 50-point mark to secure their place in the Championship Group. Recent results may mean they still have a lot to do to get there.

They have one win in three league matches and won only once in four away matches at Sangmu. In their last six away league matches, Pohang managed only two wins.
