Tuesday in Major League Baseball sees the second of a three-game series between two of the NL’s best teams when the San Diego Padres host the Milwaukee Brewers at Petco Park. Game one between these two teams ended with an extra innings 3-2 win for the Padres after a Jose Azocar walk-off single drove in Manny Machedo from third base. The win made it seven straight for the red-hot Friars who will come into this game with the possibility of leapfrogging the Dodgers for first place in the division if LA is unable to secure themselves a win against the Nats. San Diego has a 28-14 record, just a half game behind LA, while the Brewers still sit atop the NL Central despite the loss with a record of 26-16. Padres fans will be thinking it's finally the year they make a legitimate World Series run as this talented team has the third best overall record in all of baseball and are only one game behind the top placed 29-13 Yankees.

Taking the mound for the Brewers is Corbin Burns who has been having another impressive year despite the 1-2 win/loss record. A 2.26 ERA in eight starts so far this season is better than the 2.46 ERA which saw the 27-year-old win the Cy Young award last season and we can expect another strong outing from him against a Padres lineup that has struggled at times against right-handers this year. The real key to this bet will be the performance of Padres starter Blake Snell. The 29-year-old is still capable of being a top-level pitcher but has been inconsistent in the years since his dominating 1.89 ERA 2018 season for the Rays which saw him take home the Cy Young. A low total set for this game suggests that the oddsmakers like a strong showing from Snell and we think this game is set for a pitching duel as well.
