The 17-16 Cleveland Cavaliers head to Texas to take on the 23-8 San Antonio Spurs early on Tuesday in NBA action. The Spurs are 2nd in the West while the Cavs are 8th in the East ahead of our prediction on the game. 

The Spurs made a couple of huge efforts to beat the West-leading OKC Thunder in back-to-back games over Christmas, having nothing left in the tank when the Jazz came calling in their most recent contest. 

Prior to the Utah loss, San Antonio were winners of six straight home games and will be looking to get back in the win column after that momentary lapse. Their wins over the Thunder briefly closed the gap to 2.5 games in the West.

It’s been a tough time of things for the Cavs, just 2-5 in their last seven road games, those wins coming at the Wizards and the Pacers, the two bottom teams in the East. They are 6-8 overall this season on the road.

They beat the Spurs by 13 points in Cleveland back on December 5, so they will have some level of confidence going in, though a 17-point loss in Houston last time out was a blow.
