Russia have had a fine run in the qualifiers so far and with five wins in six, they will be looking to cement second place in the group as they take on a Scotland side whose results have left a lot to be desired. Russia beat Scotland 2 – 1 in Scotland and key man, Artem Dzyuba, who scored in the win will definitely lead the attack having netted six goals in the qualifiers already. In the last five qualification matches, Russia have scored 17 goals, and conceded just one. They are unbeaten in six home matches across all competitions and have kept five straight clean sheets. They also have five straight home wins in Euro Championships qualifiers and have not conceded a goal in the process, while they have two losses in 28 home matches in Euro qualifiers.

Scotland are the only ones to have breached Russia’s defence in the last five qualification matches and will be hoping to do the same, though they do not carry a very inspiring run to this clash, having lost each of the last three and with their two wins in the group having come against two of the weakest sides in the group – Cyprus and San Marino. In the six qualification matches, Scotland have conceded two or more goals in four and have just one clean sheet. With three wins in 13 Euro qualification matches, we are not very optimistic Scotland will take much from their trip in Russia. In three of their last five away qualifiers, Scotland have failed to score. This will be the fourth meeting between the two nations; in the earlier three, Russia have managed a win and Scotland none.
