PSV have played catch up to Ajax this season and it got worse after the last round of matches as they lost 2-0 to AZ. They are still placed second, with 55 points ahead of their home match against ninth placed Heracles, who have registered 36 points so far. The defeat to AZ saw them fall 11 points behind league leaders Ajax, and they’ve played a game more. PSV have two wins in the last six league matches but no clean sheet in the six games, though at home they are unbeaten in the last five, winning three. They’ve done well at home, winning 10 of their 13 matches this season in the league, and losing just one. Head to head, they’ve been superior to Heracles, going unbeaten in their last 10 matches. The hosts have a long injury list, that has Timo Baumgartl, Maximiliano Romero, Richard Ledezma, Mauro Junior and Olivier Boscagli all ruled out, while New Zealand international Ryan Thomas is a doubt for the game.

Away from home in the Eredivisie, they have four wins in 13, and lost six; they’ve conceded two or more goals in three of the last five away league matches.
