Preston North End will be at home to welcome Hull City in a mouthwatering English Championship tie. Three points separate the two after 34 rounds of play with Hull in sixth edging eighth-placed Preston. This is a crucial match for both teams as the race for a playoff spot heats up. Preston have improved their top six hopes in February and have gone through the month without a defeat. Ryan Lowe’s men are currently on a six-match unbeaten run and have won four times. They defeated Coventry 3-0 away from home last time out to earn their 15 win of the season. This propelled them up to 52 points, same as seventh-placed Norwich. They however only have a one-point advantage on Coventry who are right behind them in ninth. Preston have had a poor runout against Hull in recent meetings and haven’t won against them in the last three encounters.

Hull City won the reverse match with Preston 1-0 back in October. Considering that they haven’t lost in their last two visits to Deepdale, they will be confident of a win here. Liam Rosenior’s men also arrive for this match with an unbeaten streak of their own. The Tigers haven’t lost in four outings, winning three times. A 1-1 draw with fifth places West Brom last time out at home ended their winning run. They will be eager to get back on the horse and cement their place in the top six. Hull have amassed 55 points and are just one point behind West Brom. They have won 16 times and are currently on a four-game winning run away from home in the league.
