The UEFA Nations League was designed to stop all those meaningless friendlies that get played. It's been a reasonable success to date but this game is being played in a group where everything has been decided. Portugal are through to the finals, Italy miss out again and Poland have been relegated to League B. Not much to play for here and it'll be a good idea to keep a close eye on the team-sheets. Portugal have home advantage and have only lost two of the last 21 games and are on a five-game unbeaten run since being knocked out of the World Cup by Uruguay. A big plus is that it's all been achieved without Cristiano Ronaldo so they can't really be called a one-man team now.

Their chances of another win look good with Poland in poor form at present. They had a disappointing World Cup failing to make it out of their group and have only won one of their last eight internationals. They have already been confirmed as finishing bottom of this group after just one point from three games. Thursday saw them lose a home friendly to the Czech Republic, their third straight away defeat.  There's little to play for here but Portugal can celebrate winning this group with a home win.
