Poland vs Senegal Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup

Poland begin their 2018 World Cup campaign with a game against Senegal. The sides are the second and third favourites respectively to win the group with Colombia favourites and Japan the outsiders. The winner of this game will most likely reach the last sixteen where it's fairly certain that either England or Belgium will be their opponents. Poland are currently ranked eighth in the FIFA World Rankings and won their qualifying group by five points. It wasn't the strongest of groups with the main opponents being Montenegro and Denmark.  They won all their home games and their only defeat in the group was a 4-0 loss away in Denmark. They conceded 14 goals which was the fouth worst defensive record in the group. Since qualification form has been a tad inconsistent with two wins, two draws and two defeats. They are unbeaten in their last three games and the most recent friendly saw them beat Lithuania 4-0. A lot of their hopes will be pinned on Robert Lewandowsk who scored 16 goals in their qualfying group as they bid to reach the last sixteen at the World Cup for the first time since 1986.

For Senegal this is only the second time they have reached the World Cup finals. Their only previous appearance saw them reach the last eight with a famous win over France on the way to a quarter final loss to Turkey. That was their only loss in the 2002 tournament and was an extra-time defeat so they can proudly boast of playing five games at the World Cup finals and never being beaten in 90 minutes. Senegal also won their qualifying group by five points and were unbeaten. Last year saw them reach the quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations but 2018 hasn't been a great year for them to date. They drew three and lost one before winniing their final warm-up game 2-0 against South Korea.but they got the win via a penalty and an own goal. Their most familiar player is Liverpool's Sadio Sadio Mané who has 14 international goals in 53 games. Poland seem to be in the better form of these two sdes so go for them to get the three points.
