The second semi-final of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championship will see Poland take on Italy on Saturday. The White and Reds and Gli Azzurri faced off in the final of this competition in the last edition. Let’s get into the match prediction.
This is the matchup that most consider the title decider of this year’s FIVB Volleyball World Championship, as Poland look to reclaim gold after losing to this opponent in 2022.
The White and Reds have been excellent this year, winning all five of their matches so far, including a 3-0 victory over Turkiye in the quarter-finals on Thursday morning.
Wilfredo Leon Venero led the team with 14 points in the last match, while Kamil Semeniuk is their leading scorer in the competition with 58 points, including seven off his service.
Meanwhile, after Poland won back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2018, Italy are looking to do likewise this year, but they will know that the Red and Whites will be determined to get their revenge.
Gli Azzurri have lost one game in this competition so far - 3-2 against Belgium during the group stage - but they smashed the Red Dragons 3-0 in the quarter-finals earlier this week.
Roberto Russo produced four block points in the last match and has 11 in the competition to date. Alessandro Michieletto is the team’s top scorer in this competition with 70 points.
