by Ian John in Championship Predictions
Friday night's Championship action sees Plymouth Argyle hosting Luton Town at Home Park. Wayne Rooney's Pilgrims managed a first victory for their manager in their last home game. However, the Hatters come into this game having both won their previous Championship games to move comfortably into mid-table. Will our match prediction back either of the two teams to win?
It was a torrid start to the season for Wayne Rooney at Plymouth. An opening-day hammering at Sheffield Wednesday (4-0) saw Rooney tear into his team after that game. They responded by securing two draws, against Hull and QPR (both 1-1), before losing at home to Stoke (1-0). However, they showed resilience, beating Sunderland 3-2 in their last game at Home Park.
However, last weekend, they traveled to Championship leaders West Brom and lost 1-0. A result which leaves the Devon-based team on five points and in 20th position in the league table after six games.
Luton endured a tough start to the season, losing three of their first four games as they suffered a hangover from relegation from the Premier League last season.
A 0-0 draw at Pompey was the only point secured from twelve as Burnley, Preston and QPR all inflicted defeats on the lacklustre Hatters. Manager Rob Edwards was under pressure and his team responded well. Beating Millwall 1-0 away to pick up a first win of the season and then last weekend, they defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.
Those two wins have moved Luton to 15th in the table, two points ahead of their hosts tonight.

Our Plymouth vs Luton Town Prediction
Our prediction for Plymouth Argyle vs. Luton Town in the Championship is: Luton Town to win.
Plymouth comes into this game after a narrow defeat against West Brom last weekend, but their home form in general, isn't particularly impressive. Luton's form had been poor, but the Hatters have won their last two and look to have gained a lot of confidence from those wins. Their Premier League experience last season should help them here, and as such our prediction is for the visitors to take all three points.
