Thursday in Major League Baseball sees an early start with the Phillies hosting the Marlins at Citizens Bank Park in downtown Philadelphia. Miami has fallen to a 49-61 record, putting them fourth in the NL East and all but out of the postseason race as they now trail the final Wild Card spot by 12 games. Their opponents however are dealing with a very different situation as the Phillies are battling for a playoff appearance. Philadelphia has seen an excellent run of form improve their record to 62-48 and while they trail the first-place Mets by 10 games, the Phils currently hold the second of the three available Wild Card positions.
