Philadelphia Phillies vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction & Betting Tips - MLB

Two of Major League Baseball’s biggest names square off for the third and final game of a three-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies. Not phased by the cross-country trip to Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, the Dodgers are looking for the series sweep after winning the first two games by a combined score of 11-5. Los Angeles was the preseason betting favorites to win the World Series and have lived up to expectations so far in the regular season. Their record of 27 wins and 12 losses puts them atop the NL West, while their .692 winning percentage is second only to the New York Yankees. They come up against a struggling Phillies team who will have expected a better start than the 18-22 record they currently have which puts them third in the NL East. 

Rumblings over Philadelphia manager Joe Girardi’s job security continue on and will only intensify with each loss. Unfortunately for him, his Phillies team could well be looking at another loss in this game. The Dodgers have been red-hot and have now ripped off seven straight wins while the hosts could potentially be facing their sixth loss from the last seven games. Taking the mound for the visiting Dodgers is Tony Gonsolin who is 4-0 on the season with an impressive 1.64 ERA. Gonsolin is in terrific form and has only allowed two earned runs or less in all seven of his starts this season. His adversary will be Zach Eflin for the Phillies who has had a bumpy start to the 2022 season. The 28-year-old has a 1-3 record with a 3.90 ERA and has had inconsistent results, failing to pitch six complete innings in four out his six total starts.
