Saturday in Major League Baseball sees an NL East battle when the second-place Braves head to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Both teams are involved in their own tight races with the playoffs right around the corner; the Braves battling with the Mets for the division crown while the Phils are trying to hold on to their Wild Card spot with pressure from the Padres and Brewers. Atlanta’s 93-58 record puts them just two and a half games behind the Mets with only 11 games left on their schedule. On the other side, Philadelphia’s 83-67 record means that the Wild Card will be their only path into the MLB postseason. They’re in a pretty strong spot as things stand, with a half game lead over San Diego for the second of three Wild Card spots and a two game lead over the Brewers who are on the outside looking in.
