The Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers meet at Lincoln Financial Field for the NFC Championship game with a spot in Super Bowl LVII on the line. The Eagles have had a fantastic season up to this point, accumulating the most regular season wins in the NFC with their 14-3 record which also gives them home field advantage in this game. Philly advanced to this round by way of a 38-7 blowout of their division rivals the New York Giants in the previous round. A win here for the Eagles would mean their first Super Bowl appearance since the 2018 team which overcame the Tom Brady led Patriots to lift the Lombardi trophy. All eyes will be on quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has taken a significant step forward in his progression this season. The 24-year-old is playing at an MVP-caliber level, throwing for 22 touchdowns and adding another 13 rushing touchdowns. 

On the other side is the San Francisco 49ers who are having a movie script type of season thanks to the unbelievable quarterback play of rookie Brock Purdy. The 49ers finished the regular season with 13 victories and four defeats. They overcame the Seahawks 41-23 in the Wildcard playoff round before shutting down the high-octane Dallas Cowboys en route to a 19-12 victory in the previous round. San Francisco last made the Super Bowl in the 2019/20 season, where they would ultimately fall short to the Kansas City Chiefs at the final hurdle. The Niners are looking to go one step further from last season where they lost at this stage to the eventual champion LA Rams. Quarterback Brock Purdy’s story has been one of the highlights of the NFL season so far. Selected with the last possible pick in the NFL Draft, Purdy would have his number called when the 49ers’ two first-choice QBs would go down with injury. The 23-year-old would respond by leading his team on a 6-0 run to end the regular season, throwing for 13 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
