The Philadelphia Eagles lie second in the NFC East with a 5-7 season record. They look to improve that statistic with a home win over struggling New York Giants (also in NFC East) who have only won two of their 12 games this season. The Eagles are in tenth place overall in the NFC and need to go on a winning streak if they want a wild card place. As for the Giants, they are bottom of the NFC and can just start planning for next season. Philadelphia are bidding to win their second Super Bowl in three years but it's not looking good on them achieving that feat. They had won two straight games to go to 5-4 for the season but have lost three in a row. Those three losses were all narrow ones though with a combined figure of 21 points.
The Giants have had a miserable season and will struggle to match last year's 5-11 record. Just two wins so far this season and they came in weeks 3 and 4. Since then, it's been eight defeats in succession for the sleeping Giants and December began for them with a 31-13 home beating by the Green Bay Packers. Of their two victories, only one came on the road, that was a 32-31 win at Tampa Bay. Go for the Eagles to boost their wild card hopes with a win and be leading at both half and full time.
