A top-half battle in Brasileiro is set to take place this weekend with Palmeiras taking on Cruzeiro at Allianz Parque on Sunday morning. The hosts are currently second in the league standings while the visitors are sixth.
After winning the league title in each of the last two seasons, Palmeiras look set to challenge for the top spot again in 2024. However, it will not be an easy feat with Botafogo currently leading the way, three points clear at the summit.
With 17 games now complete, Verdao have accumulated 33 points with a record of 10 wins three draws and four losses. The most recent of those defeats came last week against Fogo on the road.

Meanwhile, after safely navigating their return to the top flight last season, Cruzeiro have taken huge steps forward this term to find themselves in the Copa Libertadores qualifier spots 16 games in.
With 29 points to their name (W9 D2 L5), Raposa trail fourth-placed Sao Paulo by a single point. However, with the table still very compact, they are also only four points clear of eighth-placed Athletico PR.
