Olympiakos are top of the Greek Super League but come into this game having lost their last three league matches and failed to score in any of those matches. They host Besiktas who top the Turkish Super League by four points and winners of their last three games. The Turks started the season in the Champions League and looked like qualifying for the knock-out stages before a 6-0 loss at Dynamo Kiev but they did have two players sent off. Before that they had drawn away to Benfica and went to Italy and defeated Napoli. They went down to the Europa League and in the last 32 had a 5-2 aggregate win over Hapoel Beer Shiva. Olympiakos finished second behind APOEL Nicosia in their Europa League group and then beat another Turkish side Osmanlispor in the last 32 winning 3-0 on aggregate despite being held to a goalless draw at home in the first leg. The Greek side have only won one of four home Europa League games this season beating Astana who lost all their away matches.
