The Netherlands missed out on the last World Cup and face a battle to automatically qualify from Group G. They are currently in second and travel to Norway who only have Latvia and Gibraltar below them. The Netherlands trail group leaders Turkey by a point but are above Montenegro and Norway on tiebreaker rules. Their campaign didn't get off to a good start with a 4-2 away defeat in Turkey. They have won their next two games easily with nine goals scored and none conceded. However, they were against Latvia and Gibraltar (who they beat 7-0 away) and now have tougher opponents to play with Montenegro following this fixture in Norway. The Dutch side had a disappointing Euro 2020 with a loss in the last 16 to the Czech Republic after winning all three group games.

Norway are fourth in the group but could go top with a win over the Netherlands. Their campaign began with a straightforward away 3-0 win in Gibraltar. They couldn't build on that though and lost 3-0 at home to Turkey. At this point, you wonder how Turkey beat the Netherlands and Norway and then had a terrible Euro 2020. Anyway, back to this match and Norway got back on track with a 1-0 win in Montenegro. The Norwegians are inconsistent though and their last two games have seen them beat Luxembourg but lose 2-1 at home to Greece. Back the Netherlands to get an important win here.
