Week four in the NFL sees the NFC East bottom-placed New York Giants hosting the NFC West’s second-place Seattle Seahawks for Monday Night Football. The Giants have managed just one win through their first three games following their 30-12 home defeat against the 49ers in week three. If it hadn’t been for a miraculous fourth-quarter comeback against the Cardinals in week two, then the G-men would be sitting on an 0-3 record. The loss to San Francisco was the second time the Giants have been gashed for 30 or more points after a humiliating 40-0 loss to the Cowboys to start the season. New York now holds the third highest points allowed mark in the NFL at 32.7 with only the Bears and Broncos worse off at this point.

The Seahawks have recovered well following a tough 30-13 loss top open the season in week one. They recorded a 37-31 overtime win over the Lions in week two and followed that up with a 37-27 win over the Panthers last weekend. Seattle have had their struggles on the defensive side of the ball as well as they rank just ahead of the Giants at 29.3 average points allowed per game. However, the key difference between these two teams up to this point is that Seattle has a legitimately dangerous offense. The visitors rank fourth in the NFL in terms of average points scored per contest at 29. Quarterback Geno Smith has picked up where he left off last season after his fantastic year which saw him throw for 30 touchdowns and over 4,000 yards. The 32-year-old has started the 2023/24 season with four touchdowns and only one interception while completing 68.9% of his passes.
