The New Orleans Saints welcome the Minnesota Vikings to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this week for a gigantic NFL clash on Christmas Day.  With the final weeks of the regular season upon us, every game is crucial as the campaign nears the playoff stage. The Saints (10-4) hope to end a losing streak after falling to defeat in each of their last two matches. The Kansas City Chiefs edged a thriller 32-29 in week 15, whereas the Philadelphia Eagles also secured a narrow 24-21 victory the week prior. The Vikings (6-8) can feel their pain. They have also lost their last two matches, against the Buccaneers and the Bears respectively. That Buccaneers defeat was a hefty 26-14 loss that exposed Minnesota's defence's frailties, and the subsequent setback against the Bears further damaged their playoff ambitions. However, they will be hoping they can recover some holiday cheer when they take on familiar rivals on Friday.

The Vikings have won six of their last ten matches against the Saints, including a few dramatic classics over the past few seasons. However, the Vikings, who are third in NFC North, are unlikely to make the postseason this time, either freeing or inhibiting their performance in this tie. Given that they allowed 397 yards against a bog-standard Bears side, we would imagine it will be the latter type of display. The Saints should have wrapped up NFC South last week, but with Drew Brees back and playing with a game under his belt, we see them making amends. Back the home side to get the win.
