The New Orleans Pelicans and Boston Celtics will meet at the Smoothie King Center in the NBA on Monday night. The Pels are 14th in the Western Conference, while the Celts are 13th in the East. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

After losing both their preseason games, the New Orleans Pelicans are now hoping to avoid a third straight league defeat after an agonising 120-116 O/T loss to the Spurs at the weekend. 

The biggest positive for the Pels so far has been the performances of Zion Williamson, who scored 27 points in each game this season. However, their defensive weaknesses are still evident. 

New Orleans lost both games against this opponent by fewer than three points last season and are winless in eight. Kevin Looney, Yves Missi and Dejounte Murray are out injured for the hosts.

Meanwhile, with Jayson Tatum expected to miss a large chunk of the season, concerns are growing for the Boston Celtics, who are 0-3 after losing to the Pistons 119-113 last night.

Much of the offensive responsibility has fallen on the shoulders of Jaylen Brown, who put up 41 points against Detroit. However, the C’s are still the lowest-scoring team in the league this season (108.0).
