The season was kicked off with a win at Fiorentina. Napoli trailed 1-0 early and ended up 2-2 and 3-3 before getting a winner with 14 minutes remaining. Then they traveled to Juventus and found themselves 3-0 down before an amazing comeback got them level. A 92nd minute own goal cost them the points. Now they get to play their first home league game of the season and have only two losses in their last 24 Serie A games, one to Juventus.
Sampdoria are bottom of the table compared to their opponents who are tenth. They are one of five teams in the league who have lost both of their games this season. They lost their first league game 3-0 at home to Lazio. That disappointment was followed by a heavy 4-1 loss at Sassuolo with Domenico Beradi hitting a hat-trick in 14 first-half minutes.
