Napoli will have their final league match at home to SS Lazio this Saturday, wrapping up what has been a tough season for the hosts. No matter the result here, Napoli are going to finish seventh while Lazio are seeking a win that could drive them from fourth to second. Napoli suffered a 2-0 loss to Inter in their last match, which was away from home and with a three-match winless away run, they will be glad to end their campaign at home. Just to highlight how low their season has been, Napoli have finished second in three of their last four Serie A campaigns, and have not finished outside the top six since finishing 12th in 2008/09 season. The biggest undoing for Napoli this season has been a leaking defence; they have conceded 49 goals in their 37 matches so far and have managed just seven clean sheets in the process. In the last 10 league matches, they have one clean sheet, which came against Sassuolo and in that match their visitors had four goals disallowed. Home form should do it for them though, as they head to this clash unbeaten in their last six league matches at home and have scored two or more in each of these. However, their defensive challenges remain, even when playing at home – Napoli have one clean sheet in their last 12 home league matches.

As for Lazio, finishing second seems to be a big motivation, even though that is not entirely in their hands. They finished eighth last season and have not managed a higher finish than third since winning the title in 2000. This is Lazio’s last match and we feel they will give their all, looking at the recent run, as they come here packed with three straight wins. Lazio have failed to score in two of their last 15 league matches and will want to take advantage of Napoli’s shaky defence. They have just two clean sheets in the last 11 league matches, which shows they are also vulnerable at the back and with one win in their last four away matches, they will hope to do better in Naples. Away from home in the league this season, Lazio have managed three clean sheets. In their last match, Joaquin Correa and Ciro Immobile combined to deliver a 2-0 win over Brescia, who are already relegated but this time it will be a bigger challenge.
