Marton Fucsovics has won his two previous matches against Jaume Munar. He bids to make it three when they face each other in round one of the ATP Shanghai Masters outdoor hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

For the winner, there's a second round match against 22nd seed Flavio Cobolli.  Fucsovics is 53rd in the live rankings and that is 12 places below his opponent. The 33-year-old has won four more hard court matches this year than Munar. 

One of those wins was over the Spaniard in Winston Salem two months ago. That's the only match they've had on this surface and Fucsovics won it in straight sets.  Fusovics went on to win the title, one of two he's won in 2025. His last tournament was in Tokyo. He won his two qualifying matches and then had a win over Frances Tiafoe before being beaten by Brandon Nakashima in round two.

Jaume Munar also played in the recent Tokyo tournament and lost in round one to Matteo Berrettini. That was his third successive loss and he looks a long way from the form that was shown in August when getting to the Winston Salem quarter-final and the fourth round of the US Open.
