Montenegro are making the most of their matches against the minnows in Group G and so far have two wins in the two matches against them. They trounced Gibraltar 4-1 on Match Day 2, having earlier beaten Latvia 2-1. Those results see them top the group jointly with Norway on 6 points ahead of their game against Norway, who are fourth, with three points. After the opening two matches, things are set to start getting tougher for Montenegro, but they must have built confidence with a five-match unbeaten run that has three straight wins. They’ve lost just once in the last 11 matches and Stevan Jovetic has been a key man, with three goals in the opening two matches in the qualifiers. In the last five home matches, Montenegro have scored 11 goals and they have one loss and three wins in the process. In World Cup qualifiers, they have four wins in six home matches.

This is going to be the first ever competitive meeting between Montenegro and Norway. Each side has one win in two friendly matches between them. Norway had a good start to the qualifiers, beating Gibraltar 3-0 away, but were served the same dose by Turkey on Match Day 2, losing 3-0 at home. In a group that also has Netherlands, Norway know they must reduce the slip ups and with the quality in their team, this should be a winnable game. They have three losses and three clean sheets in their last 10 matches and have failed to score in two of the last five matches. Norway have managed just five wins in their last 15 matches and again these have been against really low-ranking sides – San Marino, Azerbaijan and Gibraltar.
